Initial Impressions
First impressions of the Fischer Audio TBA-04 are really positive. I find there is a strong similarity to the DBA-02mkII’s:
-Possibly one of the best mid frequency response I’ve heard on an earphone – at least up there in the top 5 I’ve heard (with the likes of the PFE232’s)
-Sparkly highs – at times a little sibilant, which can be a problem with certain songs
-Lows are much better than the DBA-02mkII’s however still the lows are its weakest point
-Decent soundstage, but limited due to its housing
-Comfortable due to its lightweight design
-Looks and Design are great
-Cable is nice
-3.5mm jack is straight and the strain relief by the earphone is a little worrying for longevity
-Nice set of accessories provided, such as the over-the-ear accessory, shirt clip and case – however a lack of a cleaning tool is disappointing
-Huge amount of tips provided
My final review of the TBA-094’s has been written, to view it – Click Here
Hope you enjoyed the unboxing, pictures & the initial impressions!

The cable does look a lot like the meelec a151. A huge drawback for an expensive pair of IEMs. Keep up the good work
Cheers mate!
I’ll definitely be testing out the wire – see how well it fairs!
Any further impressions on this after a few weeks of burn-in? I lost my DBA-02 and I’m trying to decide if the new TBA-04 are really worth almost twice the money.
I definitely think the TBA-04’#s are a step up to the DBA-02’s – the bass especially is something that’s new.
My review should be finished by the end of the week 🙂
Sure they’re a step up from the DBA-02. (I would be shocked if not.)
But are they worth twice the money? And I wonder how they compare to other options in the same price…
I would also be very interested in the microphonics with the TBA-04 if you do not wear them with the cables running over and behind the ears.
The microphonics with the DBA-02 MKII are horrible, much worse than the original DBA-02. I dont know what Fischer Audio were smoking when they changed the cables in the MKII.
Microphonics are non existent in both models as you’re supposed to wear them over-the-ear. The TBA-04’s aren’t worth double the money over the DBA-02MK2’s in my opinion – but they do provide you with an upgrade.
Like with any audio gear, when you add a driver expect to pay a lot more (see westone, shure, phonak range for a reference on their prices)
Are you still planning to do a full review of these? I would love to read it.
Oh course – I’ve just been caught up with other things – I think I might finish it tonight.
Her ron!
