Breffo Spiderpodium – Overview & Review – Smartphone & Tablet Stand

First of all I would like to thank Scott at Breffo for sending me the Spiderpodiums to review.
When I first looked into the products, I thought they looked quite interesting, but somewhat had a doubt that they would really get the job done well and efficiently. I couldn’t have been more wrong with my initial thoughts about the products.

I got sent two Spiderpodiums, one made for tablet (as my mother has the Note2) and one for smartphone (as I have the S3). Before I state anything else, the Note2 does fit in the smartphone fholder with ease, I just thought it would be nice to see two different products and as the Note2 is seen as a Phablet anyway, it was a good opportunity to test out the tablet range too.

Firestone Audio GreenKey USB Isolator and FR-H001 Headphone Stand Review

First of all I would like to thank Firestone Audio for sending me these products to review.

I shall start off with the GreenKey USB isolator.
First of all, purchase information
GreenKey USB Isolator – $102 / £50 / €59 – Available from:
Firestone-Audio
Amazon USA

Here are the pictures:

The USB isolator is a product I wasn’t expecting to change a great amount of audible sound, especially in a setup at my desk, which consists of my modded Denon AH-D2000, the DigiZoid ZO2 and an EHP-O2D. I was trying so hard, for such a long time to hear a difference, whilst using the EHP-O2D in DAC mode. No matter what I did, I couldn’t hear any difference whatsoever in sound. I tried different USB ports, both at the front and back of the PC and 2.0 and even 3.0 ports. I was just about to give up and say: “this product makes no difference”, until I turned on my DigiZoid ZO2 and decided to hook it up to the PC and charge it at the same time, whilst it was in operation. This is where I discovered a difference in sound with and without the GreenKey.

Official – Samsung EB-H1G6LLUGSTD – Battery Charger/Stand with extra 2100 mAh Battery for GT-I9300

I bought the charger/stand as I wanted an extra battery & somewhere I could put my S3 on whilst it was charging at home.

For the price of £31 from Amazon, I think it was a nice combo for both, considering the official battery on its own was around £16, I thought to myself, why not.

The model of the item is the Samsung EB-H1G6LLUGSTD.

Here are the pictures:

Here is a video on it:

Overall, I really like the idea of charging my battery separately, however would have also liked charging my phone, and not only the battery, whilst it was on the stand. Making it more like a dock, rather than just a battery charger and a stand.

For the price it’s good value, especially knowing that you get an official Samsung battery alongside with it. I now use it daily, when I get home, to put my phone somewhere, although have yet to really use the second battery, as the power management of the SGS3 is very good.

Hope you liked the post!
